Baseball vs. Michigan – MLB4 Tournament Game 3 Recap

The UConn baseball team closed out the MLB4 Collegiate Baseball Tournament with a 7-1 victory against No. 8 Michigan on Sunday at Salt River Fields.
After combining on five hits during the first two days of the tournament, the Huskies busted out for seven runs on nine hits including a big day from freshman 1B Reggie Crawford.
The Frackville, Pa. native delivered a two-out two run single in the sixth and followed it up with a bases-clearing double in the eighth. His five RBIs moved a 2-1 UConn lead to a 7-1 Huskies advantage.
Ben Maycock smashed his first career home run in the fifth to break a 1-1 tie and give momentum back to the Huskies.
Junior RHP Nick Krauth was excellent in his UConn debut, firing 5.2 innings of one-run ball that included five strikeouts.
The Huskies jumped on the board early in the ballgame off an RBI single from Christian Fedko. The older Fedko brother collected three hits in the contest incuding his first extra base hit of the season.
UConn will face the same Michigan group next weekend in a three-game series in Port St. Lucie, Fla. beginning on Friday, February 21 at 2 p.m.
